Club Rules


  1. The name of the Club shall be "Minehead & District Model Club".

  2. The function of the Club shall be to promote all forms of model aircraft flying for the enjoyment of its members.

  3. The Club shall consist of Active and Honorary members.

  4. The Club shall consist of junior members (up to the age of 18) and senior members.

  5. Anyone flying at a club location or event must meet the current requirements of the British Model Flying Association and the Civil Aviation Authority

  6. The management of the Club shall rest with the committee. This will consist of Honorary Secretary, Chariman, Treasurer and Competition Secretary. A Vice-chairman may be elected in the absence of the elected Chairman.

  7. The Committee shall retire annually, being eligible for re-election.

  8. The Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the Club shall take place each year in December to include the election of a new committee.

  9. The Committee shall have the right to call Extraordinary and Special meetings.

  10. Members have the right to vote at all meetings.

  11. The Committee has the right to co-opt members onto the Committee to deal with special items of business or to fill vacancies that occur between election dates.

  12. The Committee has the right to expel members of the Club in the case of misconduct, or the breach of any Club rule.

  13. Any members wishing to resign should give written notice to the Secretary and forfeit any monies paid.

  14. Ex-members wishing to rejoin should give written notice to the Secretary stating reasons.

  15. Subscriptions will be reviewed at the AGM

    • Seniors: Current Club rate + Current BMFA rate.

    • Juniors: Current Club rate + current BMFA rate.

    • Temporary members £3 per week. Evidence of BMFA membership must be shown

  16. Subscriptions are due at the AGM. Any members three months in arrears will be deemed to have left the Club.

  17. A current account shall be maintained at a recognised bank.

  18. In the event of the dissolution of the club, all monies shall be sent to a charity (or charities) decided by the final members.

  19. An Extraordinary General Meeting (EGM) may be convened at any time at the written request of one third of its members.

  20. A statement of accounts shall be produced at the AGM by the Treasurer.

  21. These rules can only be changed at the AGM or an EGM.

  22. Any matter not covered by these rules shall be decided by the Committee.

  23. Any member proposing to alter these rules must send in written notice to the Secretary at least 28 days before the AGM.

  24. A copy of these rules shall be posted on the website and available to members on request.

  25. Members wishing to use the facilities of Minehead Social Club shall be members of that club.

  26. Maximum membership of the Club shall be 50.


Child Welfare Policy


Any Junior member, or Vulnerable Adult member, can only attend the Flying Field or Clubroom when accompanied by a parent, guardian or carer, or someone who has written authority from the parent, guardian or carer. Should the parent, guardian, carer or person with the written authority not be able to accompany the Junior member or Vulnerable Adult member then any member of Minehead & District Model Club who has DBS clearance can act on their behalf. The Club will not take responsibility for any Junior member or Vulnerable Adult member outside the area of the Flying Field or Clubroom.
